The Artful Dodger represents the work of local maker Jessica Smith. Building on her diverse background, which includes glass and ceramics at Sheridan College’s Craft and Design Program, and photography, Jessica’s recent jewellery work with precious metal clay (PMC), and Birch bark has allowed her to incorporate a wide range of techniques and skills from her past experiences into her creative process. Her work is inspired by her surroundings. Whether walking through the Oak Savannah near her home in Hamilton, or along the red sands of an endless beach on a recent trip to PEI, she is drawn to the forms and textures of the natural materials that she gathers and takes inspiration from. The Artful Dodger sells her work at outdoor festivals, and local art and craft markets, and online in her Etsy shop – TheArtfulDodgerShop.
