Lisa has always been interested in organizing creative collaborations between artists and audiences and finds that the most successful way to do this by organizing dynamic performance events. Well known for the a diverse style of curating she has produced the highly successful event, RED:A Night of Live Performance held bi-monthly at the beautiful Lula Lounge, The RED Festival, Festival of Oral Literatures – FOOL with co-founder Dan Yashinsky and most recently Speak! Storytelling at the Staircase monthly storytelling series in Hamilton.

In recent years Lisa has begun a visual art practice where she focuses on mixed media collage work combining vintage ephemera, textiles, hand written letters and photos from long ago.  Her work has been seen at DeFacto Gallery, James North Studio, The Cannon Gallery,  One of A Kind Show, Queen West Arts Crawl, Crafternoon Tea, City of Craft, Cabbagetown Arts and Craft Show, Handmade Market and her own show Movies and Makers at the Fox Theatre in the Beach neighbourhood of Toronto. Since moving to Hamilton she has been part of the vibrant art and craft scene, curatingHandmade Hamilton at James North Studio and at The Staircase Theatre.

Since 2006 Lisa has helped other artists when times were tough. It seemed to be a natural extensions of her work as an artist and curator. Lisa has studied with many great creative minds including author and creativity expert Eric Maisel, Art Therapist Jacqueline Gautier, dancer Lisa Nelson, singer Ysaye Barnwell, musician Babatunde Olatunji, storyteller Judith Black and many others! Lisa has taught at Rio Caliente Wellness Spa, Wild Women Expeditions and as an Artist in Education in the Toronto School Board. She has been fortunate to work as the Lead Facilitatory for Crossing Gibraltar; Workshop Leader for Welcome to Motherland; The Good Mother Project and as the Program Coordinator for The Nook Literacy program that used both performance and visual arts to promote literacy to inner city youth.    With over 15 years of working as a performance artist, writer and educator, Lisa is especially passionate about bring art, humour and creativity to lives of women, youth and children.
