Who is eligible to apply to the Queen & Jackson art and craft market?

We are looking for everything from fine artists to hip crafters to artisan food* vendors. We ask that everything be handmade and / or vintage. Imported or resale items are not permitted in the show.

* Food vendors will be required to submit a vendor form to the City of Hamilton Public Health department.  

When is Queen & Jackson?

Queen & Jackson takes place on the weekend of June 25 & 26 from 11:00 am – 5:00 pm.

Where is Queen & Jackson taking place?

You guessed it – Queen & Jackson takes place at the intersection of Queen Street and Jackson Street in Hamilton, Ontario! The market takes place at the historic Players’ Guild Theatre located at 8o Queen Street South.

Who organizes Queen & Jackson?

Queen & Jackson was created by Cobalt Connects and Girl Can Create (Lisa Pijuan-Nomura) in 2015. The 2016 show will be led by Cobalt Connects, with input from Lisa.

How do I apply?

Applications are now open and the deadline to apply is March 21, 2016. Application forms can be downloaded from our website and may be submitted by email or mail.

Can I apply if I’m not from Hamilton?

Yes! We welcome vendors from across Ontario.

How are vendors selected?

A jury comprised of Cobalt Connects’ staff and invited jurors from Hamilton’s art and craft community selects vendors. First and foremost, we consider the quality of the work. We also take distribution of type of work into consideration to ensure an enjoyable show for our visitors.

How much does it cost to participate?

Indoor tables are $200 and outdoor tents are $250 for the weekend. We will do our best to accommodate your first choice. All vendors will be provided with a 6’X2’ table and 2 chairs. Outdoor vendors will be provided with a 10’X10’ tent.

Accepted vendors will be sent payment details when the jury results are released in April.

Can I share a tent / table?

No. The only exception to this rule is artist collectives or collaborative projects. If you are applying as an artist collective, you must demonstrate a history of creating and showing your work together.

Can I only do one day of the weekend?

No, all vendors must be present for the entire duration of the show. You

Can I bring my own tent or table? What about racks and custom displays?

No. Due to space limitations all tables and tents will be set up prior to vendor’s arrival at the show. If you wish to bring a rack or custom display unit in lieu of a table, please provide this information with your application. We will evaluate each proposal on a case-by-case basis.

What is your cancellation policy?

Once accepted, your participation fee is non-refundable.

Is there a wait list?

Yes, we keep a wait list in case of cancellations. We will notify all applicants if they are placed on the wait list and space will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis if space becomes available.
